Rosario Dawson Is Excited For ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 But Knows Nothing
We don’t know much about Ahsoka season 2 other than the official confirmation that it’s coming, plus the obvious continuation of dangling story threads.
Rosario Dawson claims she doesn’t know anything either — she hasn’t read any scripts yet — but shared her excitement and hopes for the season in an interview on the Table Read podcast (via ComicBook.com) which she attended with Mark Hamill among others.
When asked if she had any news to share, the actress simply replied “Nope”, but she was able to expand a little bit more on her own excitement for the series, particularly on her hopes to see new costumes and to revisit Ahsoka and Sabine’s characters.
Hugely so. I mean, it’s a big deal. It’s huge. I love everyone. It’s an incredible cast. It’s a great group of people and we get more Ahsoka, we get more Sabine. We get more of these characters in a way that – and as much as we’ve watched all of the previous shows and everything – it’s new storytelling, which is just insane to me. So I hope there’s new costumes and I want to know what’s going on.
It’s not much, but it’s always nice to hear an actor’s enthusiasm about returning to Star Wars in some form or another. If Rosario Dawson is yet to see a script, that means we’re still a long way away from filming. Our own Miguel Fernandez made an educated guess about the release date of Ahsoka season 2 in his weekly Sunday column “This Week in a Galaxy Far, Far Away” back in January, theorizing that it likely won’t arrive until 2026.
It’s likely this is all we’re going to get about Ahsoka until next year, unless Disney intend on making some kind of surprise announcement at this year’s D23 Expo. Here’s hoping for some news sooner rather than later.
