New ‘Lego Star Wars’ Shorts Arrive For Halloween

It doesn’t look like we’ll be getting another Halloween-themed Lego Star Wars special this year, but we’ve got three Halloween-themed shorts to watch instead.

All three shorts are available to watch on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel, though they are also embedded into the announcement on StarWars.com and are available on StarWarsKids.com.

The first short, The Sith Witch of Mustafar, shows Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine walking through the woods on Mustafar while Vader regales his master with tales of on old witch who haunts the planet.

The second short, Mech My Day, follows a stormtrooper who builds his own mech suit with the goal of defeating Darth Vader. The short is silent and appears to be a thinly veiled advertisement for LEGO’s mech-like figures.

The third short, Mandoween, shows Grogu playing a Halloween prank on Din Djarin in another story without dialogue.

Josh Rimes, Lucasfilm’s VP of Animation Development and Production, was delighted to be able to make more Lego Star Wars content.

We’re thrilled to launch three new shorts in partnership with our friends at LEGO. For the past couple years, LEGO Star Wars, with its sense of anarchic humor, has been a perfect pairing for seasonal holiday fun. Celebrating the creepy vibes of Halloween within a galaxy far, far away is a challenge, but it’s something that LEGO Star Wars is uniquely positioned to do and we hope fans of all ages discover and share these brand-new, bite-sized terrifying tales!

David Shayne, writer of The Sith Witch of Mustafar, expressed his delight at getting to write more stories for LEGO Star Wars‘ hilarious depictions of Vader and Palpatine.

I’ve jokingly referred to this as ‘The Sith Witch Project’ and you can see the Blair Witch influence, particularly in the Emperor’s terrorized ‘found footage’ moment with his holo-projector.

After all the times Vader and the Emperor have frightened us, for once we wanted to see the tables turned on THEM! Now if we can just do a prequel, ’cause I am dying to see what happens at Vader’s Castle Halloween Party. I suspect there’s bobbing for jogan fruits…

Each short is 2-3 minutes long. It’s not a special, but the The Sith Witch of Mustafar is worth a watch at least and children will likely love the other two silent shorts.
