The Clone Wars board game - heroes and villains

Sophie Gavel, head of Z-Man Games, had this to say on the launch of their new Pandemic board game, and getting to bring this new Star Wars adventure to life:

“Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a powerful saga of heroes coming together to save the galaxy, and this game is no different! It’s also the culmination of a fantastic partnership between one of the world’s biggest franchises and board gaming’s defining cooperative system. Our cooperative Pandemic System helps bring iconic Star Wars characters and stories to life – with our Jedi needing to combine Forces to stand a chance against unending waves of Separatist troops. Players will be on the edge of their seat with every playthrough as they fight for victory…and bring balance to the Force.”

The Clone Wars board game - figures

Published in 2008, Matt Leacock’s original Pandemic game has sold over 15 million copies worldwide. The base premise of that game was simple. Work with your group and stop a growing health crisis from decimating humanity. Z-Man Games has since used that framework to create other Pandemic System games that don’t revolve around diseases or finding cures, such as: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu, and Pandemic: Fall of Rome.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars – A Pandemic System Game is being published by Asmodee in collaboration with Lucasfilm and the developers at Z-Man Games. As mentioned earlier, the game is available for purchase online right now at Target. It will release worldwide October 1st. The price point is set at $59.99 USD. You can find a pre-order link here.
