Disney/LFL has just released new featurette with tons of new behind the scenes footage from Rogue One. Check it out…

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens in UK cinemas on 15th December, 2016.

I’m not sure if we’be glimpsed him in any of the trailers, but is that General Dodonna during the scene were the Alliance are meeting?

I think so, looks like him.

Oh yeah, it’s definitely Dodonna. Bail Organa is in there too.

Yes it’s definitely Dodonna. But who’s playing him…..
The side profile looks a little like Jeremy Bulloch in the face with a beard and wig. Could it be?

Tarkin will be in the movie? Any info?

I am assuming in some sort of cameo. If you read Catalyst, you will see that Krennic and Tarkin have some history.

I’m hoping so. I swear I’ve already seen him in the Celebration Reel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUb_zpdyDpU. He can be found at 1:06 as one of the two people standing directly behind Orson Krennic, the man that takes a step to the side and back.

If it is him, I can’t believe that I’m the only one that has seen it, so it makes me think that it isn’t likeley. Still, I think it is him.

I don’t know, they all seem to be wearing Imperial hats in that picture. Of course Tarkin could wear a hat, but I think in order to get the point of who he is to the audience they would make him look as similar to ANH as they can.

His hair is really gray in ANH

Yeah exactly. The guy in that clip looks to have dark hair. He *does* look kinda like the younger Tarkin from RotS.

Unless that have show footage before they tweaked it. I know George wanted to put old Cushing Footage from another one of his films in ROTS, but it didn’t happen.

It’s nice to see some of the disjointed dialogue from the trailers put together properly to see that the actors are actually executing their lines in a convincing manner.

That was my only hang up with the trailers, but it seems like it’s just crap editing from the results of this video.

i hope this film ends with a cameo of R2d2 and c3po on the Tantive IV

My personal hope is they have Vader and the 501st readying to board the Tantive IV. I think it would be cool to see them cutting through the door from the opposite side, then pushing through the smoke filled exterior. But the next movie starts with the chase so my hopes are dashed 😛

Ah yeah we might get a little scene onboard with the plans coming through along the lines of “inform the princes we’ve received a transmission from blah blah blah” R2D2 and c3po in the background etc etc or reverse of that vader being told onboard the star destroyer
the ship has transmitted the plans to the ship but A droid cameo would be good

Leia speaking to her father one last time would be cool… and heart breaking.

Inevitably there will be a bad one but this looks like a hell of a promising start.

I like that they say Extended sequences. That’s what I missed from TFA. battles.

“Extended sequences of sci-fi action violence”

I guess the entirety of the Star Wars franchise, along with 90% of all sci-fi are now automatically PG-13. Fuck MPAA ratings by the way.

Is that base the same that we saw in a new hope? or is it a near place?, pyramids are too visible, in ANH they were less visible, more like hidden, anyone knows something about this?.

It is the same base. The new shot has the Gas Giant in so the ones we see are from a different angle and closer than the ones we see in the ANH shot. Would have to watch ANH again the check other shots

So agree with you. EVERY shot, literally E V E R Y shot I’ve seen thus far looks incredible. At this point even before seeing the movie, I know for a fact it’s going to at least visually blow TFA out of the water.

The female lead AGAIN thing pissed me off at first, now im starting to change my tune. Felicity seems to have been the absolute perfect pick for this role. Hats off to the film team for their casting choices!

It could be the coolest looking SW film yet, but I don’t expect to be as invested in the characters the way the episodic movies do.
