Great episode. Always great to have Tiffany Smith in the studio. So John Campea is 97% confident that Snoke is actually Darth Plagueis. If that pans out then I’m 97% confident that Rey’s staff is his, and Kylo Ren has been dispatched to reclaim it.

To be fair, he said “Playjus” not “Plagueis”. 🙂

I actually never minded Hayden Christiansen in the prequels. He just had zero chemistry with Natalie Portman and a majority of their dialogue was very cringe-worthy.

Hayden Christiansen’s acting simply ruined the prequels for me. Natalie Portman on the other hand is very talented, but her character was so badly written that it didn’t work either. I also found the explanation for Anakin turning to the dark side and the whole concept of the Jedi being forbidden from falling in love totally lame.

In fact, the only aspect of the prequels that I liked was Palpatine’s manipulation of the Naboo invasion and later the Clone Wars to seize power. That actually made sense and looked credible.

On other hand I liked concept of Jedi being forbidden from falling in love. because it had a total sense. And it was a logical for a order like that to have codex, rules.

Same is with orders that existed in real life. For example in Asia.

Also explanation for Anakin turning to the dark side was perfect in my opinion. And it mirrors great OT.
He become dark because of the love for his wife, and he turned to the light because of the love ( for his son ) to.

If the force “runs” in families as the OT implied, any order that prevents its members from getting married thus causing a particular family line to become extinct in the long run doesn’t make any sense. I doubt that was part of the original Star Wars concept. I also doubt Leia was not supposed to have known her mother for more than 30 seconds, or that Obi-Wan was supposed to have been trained by someone else other than Yoda. And, of course, no one becomes a homicidal maniac who strikes down younglings after having a dream about the fate of his wife.

All those topics were extensively discussed though at the time the prequels were released and it is not worth going back to them. I suspect the sequel trilogy will simply ignore the prequels and go back to the OT basics, which is actually the best thing they can do.

All 6 SW movies are canon.
            They will not ignore anything.

As for force ”runs” in familly. Just because someone is force sensitive, does not mean that it must be a Jedi. In SW universe they are alot of people who are force sensitive, but not Jedi.

Jedi in PT are at least 1000 years old, and they were not extinct.

As for Leia it is explaned in her novel.

As for Vader killing other jedi. That is from OT. As we can see in ROTJ, turning to the dark side is something that can happen in only few minutes. Darth Sidious tried to turn Luke in only few minutes on Death Star. Once you are dark, you are dark. And force vision and love is a sufficient reason to go dark. Same as his love for the son was sufficient reason for him to go back to the light.

As for new movies. The best for them would be to create something that is new. Different from PT and OT. And not a copy of OT.

I find these guys at Jedi Council arrogant and also ignorant.
Just because they dislike prequels and Hayden, they just assume that everyone dislike them.

I love prequels same as originals. And I also liked Hayden as Anakin.

Also prequels were huge box office hits. So their statement that Hayden would
pulled the audience of the film does not make any sense.

I also LOVE the prequels, and I am 35.

Also, NOBODY I KNOW (at work, neighborhood, family, etc), DOES NOT HAVE ANY IDEA that a new SW movie is on the makings… FACE IT: NOBODY (normal people) CARES ABOUT SW!

I’m no hater but I don’t know anyone in real life who ultimately enjoyed the PT. We all kind of endured them at the time and looked for the good things in them before finally bitching about them years later. I would say the JC guys are more in tune with the popular opinion about these movies especially outside of the hardcore fans where there is some very vocal PT support. Every mainstream article I’ve read about the return of Star Wars with The Force Awakens has ragged on the PT as well so it seems to be the prevailing opinion that they were lacking. I don’t think you can really argue that they are good movies because they aren’t but that doesn’t mean people don’t like them I guess.

I for one know alot of people who like prequels more than originals. Most casual fans I know prefer prequels. Actualy almost everyone I know in person prefers prequels over originals.

And yes i can argue that they were good movies because they are.
Even profesional reviews of them are good.

        TMP – 57% on Rottentomatoes
        AOTC – 67%
ROTS – 80% and certificated fresh

On IMDB there is several more times people who gave 10 than 1.

If you do not know what bad movie is watch Fantastic 4, Twilight and other trash that have 0-25 scoore on RottenTomatoes.

Posts like your are smacks of desperation.

Just accept that people like different things. And if you dislike something, someone maybe absolutely loves that same thing.

What is great to someone it is bad to somene else and vice versa.

Yes people do like different things. Virtually everybody loved ANH & ESB. They were a cultural phenomenon that we probably won’t see the likes of again.

But those guys on Jedi council? Their opinion of the prequels is not ignorant. It’s the majority… Maybe not so strongly as those guys but mainstream culture agrees they are much weaker than the originals. I know people that like all sorts of crap , my Dad tried to make me watch Ultraviolet the other night when I went round…. If he enjoys it then good for him, doesn’t make it a good movie though.

Far from true. Alot of people hate or dislike Star wars in general.

Star Wars is not that loved in the world as you may think.

Fans in USA are not really realistic when it comes to star wars.

Also go on IMDB and see grades. You will see that ANH and ESB also got 1.

Jedi council opinions is not opinion of majority, it is actualy opinion of vocal minority of old hardcore fans of original movies, that want to to impose their opinion as fact, ignoring everyone who thinks different.

Also normal people you will not find on fan sites. People posting on these sites are hard fans of star wars.

Casual fans do not care enough for star wars to post on fan sites, or even read them.

Lora. I am not from the USA and if you aren’t old enough to remember Star Wars when it first came out then you probably won’t understand how crazy everyone went for it or the impact it had on popular culture. Star Wars was ubiquitous , it was in every magazine, newspaper, on every TV station, on the news with footage of folks queuing around the block and people going to see see it 15 times over. We’ll probably never witness that level of mania over a movie again period.

But you are obviously deluded if you think the PT still look “fenomenal” as you spelled it. They look dated and haven’t aged well.

As for stating the most casual fans prefer the Prequels to the Originals, that’s just laughable.

Also when someone prefers something, it does not mean that they hate that other thing. World is not black and white.

I like ice cream, and I prefer vanilla over chocolate. But that does not mean that I hate chocolate.

Released in 1999 with groundbreaking special effects was a box office hit that wowed audiences spawning two further movies. It wasn’t The Phantom Menace though. It was The Matrix, and it still holds up today.

Compare it to the PT and you’ll see how badly they’ve aged by comparison. If you truly believe normal people prefer them to the originals then I would suggest you may not know any.

Find me one article from the mainstream press about the return of the franchise that says it went out on high with the PT and I’ll find you 20 that say the opposite. Even the director and returning cast members distance themselves from them. To say otherwise is being in denial.

Just your opinion. Even today 16 years later prequels look fenomenal.
World Lucas created in these movies is just groundbreaking.
New technologies are created for these movies.

Normal people are casual fans. And the majority of them prefer prequels.

All haters I ever meet were on internet on fan sites.

Haters are only hardcore fans of the originals that grow up watching them.

I’am really tired of them trying to impose their opinions as fact. And acting like their opinion is above opinions of others.

As for ”distance themselves from them”, all movies are canon as stated by Disney. So you are in denial.

Hayden did a great job as Vader in Ep3, not his fault that the script and dialogues sucked. Therefore it might be a good move to bring him back actually. If done right, I would even like it actually.
