Star Wars vs. Star Trek & Star Wars as a Tarantino Film.

Hit the jump for two really cool videos. Who would win in a Star Destroyer vs. The Enterprise space battle and Vader vs. Pickard stand off? Also check out how the Star Wars trailer would have looked if it was directed by Quentin Tarantino…

Old your fire, there’s no life on that one…
Biggest mistake in all imperial history! xD

It ended up costing the Empire dearly, but Vader would’ve been pissed had he realized the plans were destroyed.

Yeah, Vader would have been pissed if the plans were destroyed but I think he would have preferred that than have them fall into the Rebels hand, which they did and look at what happened.

Droids are machines, and therefore not alive.

Really enjoyed the Star Trek V’s Star Wars, it was really well done.
Didn’t think much of the Tarantino Star Wars trailer though, don’t think much thought went into it.

No it’s not. The maker had very little knowledge of either franchises technology… A single shot from one of the ISD’s canons would have overloaded the Enterprise’s deflector shield, and it would only take a single barrage of one of its dual heavy turbolasers to all but vaporize it’s hull. It’s also unlikely a Federation torpedo could breach the shielding of the Star Destroyer… A quantum torpedo probably would though.

Indeed it was shifted a bit too much on ST side as ship capabilities (plus 4.3kJ of shields for the Star Destroyer… what the heck?). But seriously I don’t expect anything good out of a movie, any, for making VS duels: c’mon they are not going to portray a realistic explosion or fire range in any film ever. Would you like a duel between ships so far that are invisible to naked eye and fire shots that glow like the sun on impact?

Forever…. I love the way that you talk about this as if it’s a REAL thing… You do know this is ALL fantasy? i.e. NOT REAL. It makes me chuckle.

Martin, I’m a nerd. By definition I take things far to seriously. Especially Star Wars.

I’m only messin’… I am too, especially about Star Wars. My fantasy is that I might get to work on the production of Episode 7… A fantasy I’m probably thinking of much more seriously than I should.

My fingers are crossed for EP7. There IS actually a small chance… obviously if I got the gig I would have to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Yup. Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound overly pedantic, but a little Yoda joke was simply inevitable … I should have slipped in a smiley.

This is not relevant but I noticed how the clone troopers were so much more B.A during the clone wars then in eps-4-6…but thanks to the animated series (clone wars) this is addressed briefly…since Jango Fett died they couldn’t get “fresh DNA” so to speak, so the dna that was being put into the new clones created were less then that of the original clones…and so on and so forth..then one day bam they suck at aiming and are not so B.A

Speaking of generations, are they Stormtroopers rather than Clone Troopers in this series?

Oh, they’re using Stormtroopers, yeah. I’ll give you the big nerdy breakdown.
In my opinion, having made The Clone Wars and now working with Stormtroopers, I would say that a Clone trooper could outgun a Stormtrooper rather easily. A Clone trooper was bred, born, raised to be a soldier. Lucky for them, the Jedi gave them a lot of personality, but they were very dedicated soldiers. Stormtroopers are drafted into service; you can join through academies. If you watch A New Hope they stand around and say, ‘Hey, you seen the new BT-16?’ They seem interested in their job but you question their dedication. They’re treated as expendable by the Empire, and they definitely can’t shoot anything.

When Obi Wan says, ‘Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise’, I think he’s making that up on the fact that he used to fight with clones, so he assumes that a Stormtrooper is really good. Much to his shock those guys can’t hit an R2 unit in a naked hallway, let alone be precise. So I like Stormtroopers, I find them very interesting. The Stormtroopers have better gear, better weapons in a lot of ways but it’s just a different war they are fighting than the Clone troopers’ was.

That subject was discussed in an interview a couple of posts back. Most of the Stormtroopers were recruits not clones.

Neat videos. I do not think I would have ever watched a Quentin Tarantino Star Wars film, though. Suffice to say, had the entire script remained unchanged it would have been particularly unsettling to see how he would have handled scenes such as the murdering of Jedi children. Heads popping off, blood spurting everywhere; such drama… an obvious Oscar contender in this day n’ age.

Do not know how big the Enterprise is, but I have always thought that an Enterprise vs Millennium Falcon fight would have been more balanced.

THe Millenium falcon is smaller than the Enterprise (Original series) but boast’s better firepower, shields and navigational systems.

    Star Wars vs Star Trek.
    To see any credible information,
visit stardestroyer.net as the author’s of this site have done legitimate research and use correct calculations to show which is better (If you pit Empire against the Federation). If you have any beef with me, check out the site and see the hate mail section. Very informative on the normal trekkie psych.

    Okay, let me clarify this.
Its Star Wars vs Star Trek.
No all powerful beings (like Q)
No unrealistic tech (Anything with quantum in it’s name, or resonance capable of obliterating planets like the suncrusher)

Using information i found at stardestroyer.net and checking the calculations and research, I state that Star Wars certainly wins. Sorry, but I’m a fan of SW. I will count the EU of SW and anything that might make sense from Star Trek, so long as it is truly canon and is not pathetic.
Disregard SW episode 7 if it rewrites the canon and Star Wars the clone wars never actually happened (Anakin “I will never have a padawan” episode 3)
