Happy New Year everyone! 2019 is now behind us, a year that gave us the ending of the Skywalker Saga, The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. As we look forward to 2020, there’s a whole lot of new Star Wars content to get excited about!

There are no films this year but on the TV front, The Clone Wars makes its grand return on Disney+ next month with its seventh season, while Star Wars Resistance finishes up its second and final season.

Deborah Chow’s hotly anticipated Kenobi series starts filming in the spring, and the Cassian Andor spin-off series is also rumoured to begin filming this year. The Mandalorian is also returning for a second season at the end of the year, with Din Djarin and The Child off searching for its species.

There’s a lot to look out for in the publishing space as well. So far, Del Rey have announced that we’re getting Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising by Timothy Zahn, the first of a prequel trilogy giving us our best look yet at the Chiss Ascendancy in current canon.

We’ll also be able to read Queen’s Peril by EK Johnston, a prequel to her Padmé novel set just before The Phantom Menace. Fans who love space battles will also be getting an Alphabet Squadron sequel, and we can all look forward to The Rise of Skywalker novelisation and anthology books The Clone Wars and Dark Legends.

Comic fans can dig into Charles Soule’s Star Wars series (the first issue is out today) and continue Soule’s intriguing Rise of Kylo Ren series. Darth Vader and Doctor Aphra will return with their own separate series focusing on what the characters were doing between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, while the end of the year will also bring us From The Journals of Obi-Wan Kenobi, looking at his time on Tattooine protecting Luke Skywalker.

Stay tuned for our coverage of all these things and more in 2020. With all these exciting things to look forward to, we hope the fandom will be positive this year and respect other people’s opinions when discussing this galaxy that we all love and adore.
