Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Behind-the-Scenes Video Confirms the Return of an Original Trilogy Character

The behind-the-scenes video clip shown tonight on ABC for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now available online, providing hints at what’s in store for our heroes on their last journey. And based on what’s shown, there’s confirmation we’ll be seeing a familiar face from the original trilogy in the film.

The clip show revealed is the same one that was at Star Wars Celebration Chicago, with some new shots of The Rise of Skywalker‘s production. It’s a mix of behind-the-scenes content from all of the Skywalker Saga movies, along with the newest installment. The video, like The Rise of Skywalker‘s marketing, heavily emphasizes that this is the end to one long story. Check it out below:

Eagle-eyed viewers may notice something of interest in the video: a short scene of Warwick Davis working with his costume…an Ewok costume. It may be a bit too early to tell, but based on the character’s appearance, it certainly seems as though an elderly Wicket will at the very least be making a cameo in The Rise of Skywalker.

It will be interesting to see what other cameos we may be in store for in the final chapter of the saga. This wouldn’t be the first time that the behind-the-scenes reel gave away a pretty unexpected appearance. With Rogue One, that movie’s sizzle reel very briefly gave us our first glimpse at Darth Vader outside of his suit of armor, just before Director Krennic arrives on Mustafar. (And sure, Darth Vader was expected to cameo, but nobody was really counting on first seeing him in a healing chamber.)

Here are some cool screenshots from the featurette:
