ILMxLAB Announces Surprise Release of Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series – Episode II at Oculus Connect

Today during Oculus Connect 6 in San Fransisco, ILMxLAB and Oculus Studios made a surprise announcement revealing that Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series – Episode II is now available for both the Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift platforms.

Vader Immortal is a three-part canonical Star Wars adventure that allows audiences to step into the role of a Force-sensitive smuggler recruited by Darth Vader himself.  The first episode for the highly anticipated VR Series, written by David S. Goyer, released earlier this year in June and was an exhilarating and unique Star Wars experience like we’ve never seen before. In Episode I, they learned how to use a lightsaber and explored the depths of Lord Vader’s castle. Episode II picks up right where you left off as you learn the ways of the Force from the Sith Lord, and battle thrilling new Star Wars creatures while uncovering the secrets of Mustafar. In addition to the main story line of Episode II, players will also have the opportunity to hone their skills in Lightsaber Dojo II — a standalone training mode that combines lightsaber combat and Force powers for the first time in virtual reality.

According to Supervisor, Creative Development and Experience Design Jose Perez III, “In Dojo II, you will be able to use the Force to stun, pick up, and fling your opponents across the arena. You can even use the Force to throw your lightsaber.”
