Report – Bob Iger Confirms Star Wars Film Hiatus After Episode IX

As we watch the final countdown to the Episode IX panel at Star Wars Celebration, Bloomberg dropped a report that will no doubt be bittersweet for the fandom. There’s been speculation that the film’s initially announced annual release schedule would slow down after IX and it’s confirmed here by Bob Iger himself.

At around the six-minute mark, Iger states pretty clear there will be a hiatus and that gap will be filled with Disney + content. See the video below from Bloomberg.

Well, what do you think? Were you looking forward to a Star Wars film annually or is this hiatus a good thing? As the weekend progresses we are almost certain to learn more about how that gap will be filled by television and other exciting projects. Don’t give up hope if this news gets you down. The Force is strong with great storytelling in Star Wars, so don’t expect that to slow down anytime soon.
