J.J. Abrams Officially Announces Star Wars: Episode IX Has Wrapped Filming
J.J. Abrams has taken to his official Twitter account to announce that Star Wars: Episode IX has completed principal photography.
It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on Episode IX. There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I’m forever indebted to you all. pic.twitter.com/138AprtFuZ

It’s so awesome and borderline surreal to see a tangible set photo, which has Daisy Ridley (Rey), Oscar Isaac (Poe), and John Boyega (Finn) embracing in a hug!
John Boyega joined the announcement party via his Twitter account soon after.

And it seems Boyega got some really nice presents from Kathleen Kennedy for the end of filming:

Earlier today we reported that the film likely wrapped based on posts from crew members, and now it is official!
Strap in, this is where the fun begins! Star Wars: Episode IX opens in the US on December 20, 2019.
