New Star Wars: Forces of Destiny Short Will Arrive on the Same Day That Solo Releases

Fans may have noticed something a little odd about the recent batch of Star Wars: Forces of Destiny episodes: there were only seven instead of the usual eight. However, it sounds like there are eight episodes in this batch, and the last one is being saved for the next broadcast special.

Tracy Cannobbio, who is the Director of Franchise and Animation Publicity at Lucasfilm, offered a sort of tease on her Twitter that a new episode is being saved for a very specific date for the broadcast version of this set of episodes:

This date is important not only because it marks the 41st anniversary of Star Wars, but it also serves as the release date for Solo: A Star Wars Story. And if I had to guess, this is specifically being timed in this way because this next short will likely focus on Emilia Clarke’s Qi’ra or another character from Solo. Think about it — the first shorts set around The Last Jedi didn’t arrive until after the movie had been released, and while dropping a Solo-related short on the day of release is something that’s relatively unprecedented, it would make sense if it’s a story set before the beginning of the film.

What do you think the next Forces of Destiny short is going to be? Sound off in the comments section and on The Cantina.
