Star Wars: The Last Jedi TV Spot Shows Off A Few Additional Shots

The latest Star Wars: The Last Jedi TV spot has arrived with the latest Baseball game in the World Series. While it’s mostly just an abridged version of the trailer, there’s a closer look at the area surrounding the Force Tree/First Jedi Temple and (if I’m not mistaken) a few extra frames showing the Battle of Crait.

Really not much to say here – it basically boils down to the plot with Luke, Rey, and Kylo Ren that was shown in the trailer into 45-second frame, with some of the other big shots in the trailer included. With only a month and a half to go before showtime, the floodgates are really starting to open. Let’s hope that Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is indeed something… Truly special.

Should Luke be saying he’s afraid? I thought that led to the dark side.

Light side, dark side it’s all black and white. Maybe its a grey thing?

It can be argued that Finn’s fear (more specifically his fight or flight) led to a chain of events that brought about tremendous good.

That’s just bad advice from Yoda, the same guy who told Luke to pass on what he’s learned — look how well that went.

He meant “pass” on it as in give it a pass .. Stupid Yoda talk, bad for the galaxy.

Damn technicalities. The whole irony of that too, is that towards the end of Luke’s ESB training, Yoda was advocating the sacrifice of the only family member that Luke could pass his knowledge to.

Let’s be honest. If the prequel trilogy was anything to go by… Yoda is an idiot. Another reason why I’d rather just remember him as an enigmatic sage in a swamp. Better than some failed leader who has a better track record at losing than success. 😛

In TLJ it’ll be revealed in Luke’s library books that Yoda was actually a 6ft tall human who was murdered by a little green dark lord who assumed his identity.

Haven’t we all recognized that “Do or do not, there is no try” sounds suspiciously like a Sith-style absolute statement?

            No wonder Luke’s pissed.

The music is amazing. Instant classic Williams score.

The music is solid, but it’s questionable whether it’s all John Williams. John Williams does not score trailers. I in fact, really liked the music for the second trailer in Force Awakens and came to find it wasn’t John Williams.

They are themes originally written by John Williams, but this is not John Williams music. They have artists that create the trailer music, just like they did for TFA.

Which, being honest, that TFA trailer music was better than about 90% of what ended up in the film.

If this is anything like the marketing campaign for TFA, we should expect a full barrage of tv spots. It’s gonna be hard not watching them. Into exile I must go.

Rey and Kylo are siblings. Something like the Legends plotline .Rey was hidden in Jakku , to be away from his brother decadence to the darkside. In TFA you could see her conection with Han, the falcon is landed near her for years. Leia hugged Rey like a daughter. ! Jacen and Jaina like

And let me guess, the dialog will go something like this: “To protect you from [Snoke], you were hidden from [everyone] when you were born. [Snoke] knew, as I did, if [Han & Leia] were to have any [additional] offspring, they would be a threat to him. That is the reason why [you] remain safely anonymous.”

Its all about Skywalker’s. So to follow the whole plot of the previous two trilogies, she has to be a Skywalker.

And, if you read the certain point of view book, Leia was the one Yoda wanted to train, not Luke. So it kind of fits that Rey might be a Force conception and Han didn’t know.

Kylo Ren (Ben Solo) is as much a Skywalker as he is a solo.

My money is on that they’re cousins. Kinda. Rey is like X-23 to Luke as Logan. She was made in a secret Imperial lab on Jaaku. The scientists were assigned by the Emperor to create clone soldiers powerful with the Force. They recovered Luke’s hand and saber from Bespin and used the DNA to make Rey. This was the dying Emperor’s back-up plan and why the remaining Imperial forces rallied at Jaaku for a final battle against the restored Republic.

So DNA and Midiclorians are essential to Force ability?

It’s been there since 1976. They are essential to allowing a connection to the Force.

Random thought. Wonder if they gave the AT-M6s a unique laser sound? I mean I’ve always liked the AT-AT cannons but it seems a perfect opportunity to add yet another cool sound effect to Star Wars. A deeper more menacing blast from these guys could be quite cool.

Most interesting. I hope that the marketing doesn’t spoil the entire movie. That’s one thing I will give TFA credit for, namely JJ Abrams. A man who respects the old ways of filmmaking via a code of silence.

As for Rey finding answers; I hope so. I hope we get some payoffs from TFA. Because, yeah; I have made my view more than clear, but really just from this trailer; it looks like we are going to get some big answers.

And really, knowing RJ and his pedigree; it is going to be something mindblowing. I could be very wrong, but you know what; I have faith. Immense faith, actually. Plus, I am not going to lie; I just finished reading TFA”s novel.

This may surprise people but I enjoyed the book. It has the same issues as the movie, but really it does the one thing that I wanted from the movie: give some insight and have a heart. But I argue a lot of that is due to how books in my view do a better job at developing characters.

Still, I look forward to seeing this movie and reading the novelization.

They didn’t show the spoiler parts, but the trailers for TFA basically showed off all of the set pieces of the movie. Rey on Jakku, Escape from Jakku, Battle of Takodana, Resistance gathering at their base, Battle of Star Killer Base, Han and Chewie on StarKiller Base etc.

Couldn’t they make Snoke more original? Even the “Fulfill your destiny” at the end is nothing but Emperor 2.0.
