‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Series Debut Moves to Friday May 27th With First Two Episodes

Ewan McGregor has announced a small change of plans for the release of Obi-Wan Kenobi… for the better. The show is now debuting on Friday, May 27th, when the first two episodes will drop on Disney Plus.

This small shift means that the Deborah Chow-directed series will no longer release on the Star Wars: A New Hope anniversary (May 25th). StarWars.com has confirmed that the rest of the season will still premiere on Wednesdays. No reason has been given for the move.

The first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi will release during Star Wars Celebration, and while we haven’t had any confirmation yet, it’s very possible the venue could stream them for the people attending the event. We will keep you updated in case there is news on that front. We will also be covering all of Star Wars Celebration, both on StarWarsNewsNet.com and through our YouTube channel.

We are now less than two months away from the release of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the marketing machine is going full steam ahead. Entertainment Weekly has been releasing snippets of interviews they did with the cast and crew, and more news on the series could be coming in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

Note: A previous version of this story mentioned that the rest of Obi-Wan Kenobi would be premiering each Friday after May 27th, and the reason why would be Ms. Marvel‘s debut on June 8th (Wednesday). We have updated the story after finding out this is not the case.

He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
