A Quick Look at All Star Wars Titles That Will Debut In 2022

The artist, formerly known as the deadliest bounty hunter in the galaxy, is headlining a year full of adventures in a galaxy far, far away.

From the Mandalorians to nonconformist storm troopers and even to the return of the chosen one, Star Wars has a treat in store for fans. So, relax and look at the binary sunset to the future, to the horizon at what is ahead. Here are all things Star Wars fans should look forward to in 2022. The list also includes the publishing side of things.

What to expect in 2022

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi

What is the arguably most highly-anticipated Star Wars release since The Force Awakens, the six-episode limited series Obi-Wan Kenobi will take place 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, which will include what Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy called the “rematch of the century” between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader. The series will debut May 25th on Disney Plus

Star Wars: Andor

Andor

Andor will follow Cassian Andor’s (played by Diego Luna) adventures. Fans will get to see more of Cassian’s Rebel spy days years before he met his fate on Scarif. The first season is to reportedly include 12 episodes, and will be released late Summer/early Fall, with a second season set to start filming this Fall.

The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian season 3 began filming in fall 2021, following a similar pattern to previous seasons. The series is expected to make its return in late 2022. Now that Grogu is reunited with Din Djarin, only time will tell what adventures are ahead for the two. Questions still swirl around Bo-Katan and her obsession with the Darksaber, and what has come of Moff Gideon? The return of the first live-action Star Wars series will be highly anticipated as the year goes on.

Hera and the Bad Batch

The Bad Batch

Lucasfilm confirmed season 2 would debut in 2022.

With The Bad Batch, Clone Force 99 is a unique brand of clones, each with their own quirky personalities and capabilities. They are the “A-Team” of Star Wars. The continued adventures of Omega, Crosshair, Wrecker, Hunter, Tech, and Echo are expected to arrive on Disney Plus this Spring.

Will we get a glimpse into the Emperor’s cloning operations now that Kamino is no longer in business?

Ahsoka

Another special event limited series is coming with Ahsoka. The Dave Filoni led series will feature Rosario Dawson back as the title character, and see the return of characters from Rebels who will be making their live-action debuts. There are not many details available about the series, though The Mandalorian set it up, clearly showing Ahsoka is looking for Grand Admiral Thrawn, who is also expected to make his live-action debut in the series. Ahsoka is expected to arrive on Disney Plus in 2023.

The publishing side of things

2022 in Star Wars publishing is set up for its biggest year under Disney yet as major releases are hitting each and every month from all eras of Star Wars. May sees Mike Chen’s Brotherhood, which will give us a new look at the iconic Obi Wan and Anakin relationship. The very next month sees Shadow of the Sith, answering several questions from The Rise of Skywalker. This fall, Han and Leia will get married in The Princess and the Scoundrel.

All of this before phase 2 of The High Republic jumps back even further in time to further flesh out this daring era in Star Wars. New authors will join the fray, including Zoraida Córdova’s Convergence which is coming this October. Phase 2 will also see Dark Horse Comics return to Star Wars with fan-favorite author Claudia Gray writing “Quest of the Jedi.

Elsewhere in comics, Charles Soule and the rest of the Marvel team continue to flesh out the time period between The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi in grand fashion. After last year’s War of the Bounty Hunters crossover and the ongoing Crimson Reign, this summer sees Soule finish out his epic with this summer’s The Hidden Empire miniseries. What will the other series have to offer to match? All of this and so much more this year in Star Wars publishing!

2022 will have more new Star Wars content than any year in franchise history, with several live-action series, animated series, as well as new books and comics. So come join us as a fan or put on your disguise or even use a VPN, your call. But one thing is sure – the future is bright in a galaxy far, far away.

Which is your most anticipated project from the above? Make sure to tell us in the comments below.
