‘Star Wars: The High Republic’ Short Story Collection Releasing September 2022

A book collecting several short stories first published in Star Wars Insider, all set in the era of the High Republic, will arrive later this year.

Star Wars: The High Republic is a multimedia project showcasing the adventures of the Jedi Order hundreds of years before the events of the Skywalker Saga, covering multiple books and comics series – with plans to expand into television shows with The Acolyte and video games with Star Wars Eclipse. Initially set during a time of peace and a Golden Age for the Galactic Republic, a series of threats lead by the Nihil have thrown order into chaos as the Jedi must face their greatest challenge in generations.

The fiction collection, bluntly entitled Star Wars Insider Fiction Collection: The High Republic Volume 1, is targeting a September 2022 release. What is in this fiction collection remains to be seen at this time, since no stories were listed with this particular listing, but conventional thinking indicates that the collection should cover stories from the first two years (and change) of the initiative, which was first announced on February 24, 2020.

The High Republic

In less certain Star Wars book news, another possible pair of titles, currently existing under a codename, may also be in the pipeline for the preceding month. A space opera book published by the Ballantine Books division of Penguin Random House, given the codename of “Misbehaving”, is also in the pipeline for an August 2022 release. In addition, another Ballantine Books title, codenamed “Parabola”, is also in the pipeline for an October 2022 release. However, it remains to be seen if either of these books are tied to The High Republic or Star Wars in general.

Special thanks to the users of r/StarWarsLeaks for both finds.

“Misbehaving” will be released on August 16, 2022. Star Wars Insider Fiction Collection: The High Republic Volume 1 will be released on September 27, 2022. “Parabola” will be released on October 4, 2022.
