‘Star Wars Hunters’ Gets First Gameplay Trailer

It’s been a while since Lucasfilm Games and Zynga unveiled the first official (CG) trailer for Star Wars Hunters, their upcoming free-to-play video game for mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. However, we only got brief glimpses at the gameplay through scattered ads and some screenshots. Now, a proper gameplay trailer has finally arrived via Lucasfilm Games’ Twitter account:

The game looks rather impressive for a mobile title, with 4v4 matches that appear to be both playful and competitive. Teamwork seems to be the key in this casual third-person shooter, and unique original characters have been created to represent different corners of the Star Wars galaxy. That being said, the arenas which have been showcased so far feel quite familiar. Regardless of how the game itself plays and whether it builds up a dedicated community or not, I’d say Lucasfilm Games and Zynga have an attractive cartoony playground in their hands that will surely be updated over time with new characters and locations.

The companies still aren’t committing to a solid release date, but the pre-full-release early access period, which was supposed to start before the end of the year, is surely moving to 2022 now. Pre-registrations remain open and offer exclusive items, so get in there if you want to check out Star Wars Hunters sooner or later.
