Bill Burr “Not Allowed to Say” Whether He Is Returning for ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3

The Mandalorian season 3 is currently filming and comedian Bill Burr, one of the supporting actors from the previous two seasons, is “not allowed to say anything” in regards to whether he is coming back.

Burr, who played Mayfeld in both seasons (one episode in each) of The Mandalorian, recently gave an interview with Screen Rant in which he expressed his enthusiasm for coming back, but appears contractually obligated to keep his mouth shut on the matter. He said:

Oh, I hope so. Jon Favreau and Rick Famuyiwa, who wrote both of my episodes that I did — to be a small part of something that big that is that good that means so much to so many people. I’m obviously not allowed to say anything other than I just absolutely love being on that show and I hope it continues and if it doesn’t, I’ve had a blast.”

Since Sasha Banks confirmed a couple of weeks ago that she will not be back for season 3, this can be seen as confirmation that Burr is indeed coming back for the next set of adventures in the story of Din Djarin. His last appearance certainly left the door open for a return, after turning in what many believed to be an Emmy-nomination-worthy performance in Chapter 15 The Believer.

Favreau and his team are back at work in L.A., filming for the third season of the show. As far as the cast beyond Pedro Pascal, we know Carl Weathers is back, both acting and directing, and that Sasha Banks is seemingly not (though an appearance in The Book of Boba Fett is not out of the realm of possibility). Pedro Pascal is shooting HBO’s The Last of Us in Canada, and it is unknown how much time he’ll physically spend on set for season 3 of The Mandalorian.

The Mandalorian season 3 is confirmed to arrive on Disney Plus in 2022.
