‘Star Wars: Visions’ Garners Great Initial Response from Audiences and Critics Alike

Star Wars: Visions

Star Wars: Visions debuted on Disney Plus on Wednesday, and so far, the response has been great. Before its official drop, 19 critics sent in their reviews to the aggregating site Rotten Tomatoes, and 94% of them gave it a thumbs up. As of the posting of this article, 35 critics have submitted their reviews, and XX% of them are recommending the show. At the same time, 80% of the 50 casual viewers that gave their take on the site have liked the series so far!

This is nothing but great news for both Star Wars and Japanese anime creators, showing that the Force is strong with them. Anime is one of the most popular forms of animation around the world, not just in Japan, and fans of the genre are clearly responding to the call. While we don’t have an official number yet from Lucasfilm or Disney of people that have watched the show so far, there is probably enough word-of-mouth going around on social media to get people interested.

A second season of Star Wars: Visions is not guaranteed yet, but the creators have expressed their interest in doing it, and it might be a matter of time before Lucasfilm makes the announcement. We know that in little over a month, on November 12, Disney is planning an online event to celebrate the two-year release of Disney Plus, and they have said they will make announcements and release trailers for some of their upcoming projects. It is very possible we’ll get some news on this front then.

While we wait for any further announcements, make sure to check out Lacey Gilleran’s reviews on the series — she did a spoiler-free written review, and two spoiler-filled reviews, both in written and video form.
