‘Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser’ Resort Poster Unveiled

Galactic Starcruiser
Disney and Lucasfilm have unveiled a new poster for their Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser resort, which is connected at the hip to the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge theme park expansion in Walt Disney World. The poster features the likes of Kylo Ren and Chewbacca and hints at the kind of experience that guests are in for.

Disney Parks unveiled that poster earlier today, promoting their big narrative experience unlike anything seen at a Disney Theme Parks resort before. The resort is an immersive two-day experience meant to put guests through an interactive story on the Halcyon, a Corellian MPO-1400 Star Cruiser, during the timeframe that Galaxy’s Edge is set in. Initially set for a relaxing cruise through space, the ship finds itself in the middle of a conflict that the crew and passengers will have to resolve. Guests can make their choices on whether or not to align themselves with the First Order or the Resistance, along with various other options, like exploring the path of a Jedi and training with a lightsaber against remote droids. Guests will be able to treat themselves to otherworldly sights, sounds, tastes, and smells as the ship makes its journey, though they’re certainly free to visit Batuu if they need some fresh air.

You can see the full poster, done in a style reminiscent of Drew Struzan’s iconic posters for the films of the franchise, below:

Galactic Starcruiser

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser was planned to open this year, but due to complications arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, the grand opening has been delayed to an unspecified point in 2022. Hopefully, we’ll be “out of the woods”, as Han Solo would say, by the time it opens, and the companion to Galaxy’s Edge will prove to be more than worth the wait… And the presumably hefty price tag that it will cost to book two nights.
