‘The Mandalorian’ DP Baz Idoine Wins For Best Cinematographer

The accolades for The Mandalorian continue to pour in with recognition for Director of Photography Baz Idoine winning for his stunning cinematography on the series.

 

Baz Idoine was recently recognized by the American Society of Cinematographers for his outstanding visuals in the second season. Idoine won for Best Cinematographer, Episode of a Half Hour Series for Television, for Chapter 13 of The Mandalorian, “The Jedi.”

 

 

That episode was notable for the live-action debut of former Jedi Ahsoka Tano, but also for its striking cinematography. The episode had some of the most impressive visuals of the series so far, depicting Din Djarin’s encounter with Ahsoka in the withered forest outside a fortified settlement on an alien world.

 

Baz Idoine also contributed to the cinematography of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, as well as the movies There Will Be Blood and The Master. This award continues the acclaim the series has received in the last year, including Emmy Awards for Outstanding Music Composition For A Series (Original Dramatic Score). among other categories, and a SAG Award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series.
