Excerpts Revealed From All 40 Stories in Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back

From A Certain Point Of View

Back in June it was revealed a follow up was being made to From a Certain Point of View, a book containing 40 original short-stories centered around the original Star Wars film. As expected, the follow up is focused on The Empire Strikes Back. The new book arrives November 10, and yesterday Del Rey posted an excerpt from each of its 40 short-stories. Check them out below.

While there are too many excerpts to analyze, most of them seem to embrace some of the weirdness that was promised back when the book was announced, from a story solely focused on the wampa from Hoth, or perhaps one of the most interesting ones, a story from the point of view of the Dagobah cave, by Tracy Deonn. Some of the stories will appeal to the general audience, like Jason Fry’s, focusing on Wedge Antilles after the Battle of Hoth. But most are designed to appeal to the biggest geeks in the galaxy.

The author lineup includes several returning Star Wars contributors but also introducing new fantasy authors to the galaxy. From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back will be released on November 10 and you can preorder your copy here. One can imagine we can now expect another book of this type when Return of the Jedi turns 40 in 2023.

Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as movies from Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
