This new publication is not Star Wars’ first venture into the world of manga. Over the past few years, many series have received the manga adaptation treatment, including Rebels, and Visions. Other Star Wars books such as the Young Adult novel, Lost Stars, and Leia: Princess of Alderaan have also been adapted into the genre

Coming from the official Star Wars YouTube channel, in their latest This Week! in Star Wars, the official release date was given for the manga: September 12. A few pages were also shown, highlighting the art done by Yusuke Osawa. The pages look to be adapting the introduction of Din Djarin from the first episode of The Mandalorian. Years after the fall of the Galactic Empire, a solitary bounty hunter is given a simple mission. Find and return the Child to the Imperial Remnant, all that remains of the once all-powerful Empire. This mysterious orphan has a power that can possibly turn events in their favor, and acquisition of that power is paramount. Instead, the bounty hunter goes on the run with the Child to protect him from the forces that would do him harm. Here is the story of The Mandalorian, and his desperate quest to save the Child and himself.
