‘Ahsoka’: Mark Rolston Joins Cast as Captain Hale

A new actor has been added to the Ahsoka cast list, along with his character name. According to a Facebook post on the group “Star Wars Autograph Universe” (via r/StarWarsLeaks), a user named Travis Korick posted a picture of an Ahsoka poster signed by actor Mark Rolston, which included the name of his character, “Captain Hale”.

Obviously, this isn’t much, but Rolston’s involvement in the series had been kept under wraps so far. For that reason, we don’t expect him to have a presence as large as, say, Ray Stevenson, who is reportedly playing a “villainous admiral” who is not Thrawn. But we are digesting every nugget from the Ahsoka production we can get, and that includes any casting reveal that comes our way. Rolston has had previous ties to Star Wars, as he voiced Senator Dagonet in the second episode of Tales of the Jedi. He is an industry veteran, with roles in Shawshank Redemption, Aliens, and even the 2018 Spider-Man video game, where he voiced Norman Osborn.

The rest of the Ahsoka cast, so far, includes Rosario Dawson as the title character, whom she already played in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (rumored to be playing Hera Syndulla), Ivanna Sakhno as an undisclosed character, Ray Stevenson as an Imperial admiral, Matthew Law in an undisclosed role, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker. Only Dawson, Liu Bordizzo, and Sakhno have been officially confirmed to be part of the cast.

More details about the series, including who’s who on the ensemble, could be announced during the Ahsoka panel at Star Wars Celebration, on April 8 at 11am GMT. A trailer and release date (which will be towards the end of the summer, early fall) is also to be expected. Stay tuned for our full coverage of the convention.
