The Next ‘Star Wars’ Celebration Will Be In 2025
This year’s Star Wars Celebration is just 45 days away, but Star Wars fans always have one eye on the horizon, and now we know that the next Celebration will take place in 2025!
Normally, the date and location of the next Celebration is a mystery until the end of the closing panel, but in a new article released today, the official site revealed when, but not where, the next Celebration will be. Whilst the article highlighted five reasons for fans to go to Star Wars Celebration for the first time, it was this one line that delivered the real news:
“And if you can’t join us this year, with the next Star Wars Celebration not taking place until 2025, you’ll have plenty of time to work on your cosplay, refine your Wookiee roar, and sharpen your lightsaber skills.”
Yes, Celebration is skipping a year. But what a year 2025 promises to be. With both the 10th anniversary of The Force Awakens and the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith, there will be plenty to look back on. But 2025 may also be the year we see Star Wars return to the big screen for the first time since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. Just imagine the atmosphere of being in the room as the lights go down and you get to see the first teaser for Star Wars‘ theatrical return.
As for the venue, we’ll have to wait until April 10 for that… unless they leave us guessing again like they did in Orlando 2017. With both being near Disney parks, educated guesses would be either Orlando or Anaheim, but they could also surprise us with an out-of-the-box choice, like they did with Chicago in 2019.
