‘Star Wars’ Celebration Announces ‘Return of the Jedi’ 40th Anniversary Panel, Plus New Guests Including Rosario Dawson

More announcements keep coming regarding the upcoming edition of Star Wars Celebration, and this one is pretty big. It was expected that the schedule would include a panel dedicated to the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi. And the organizers didn’t wait for that schedule to drop, as they’ve not only officially announced it, but also confirmed that eight cast members from the film will be attending the event. And if that wasn’t enough, Rosario Dawson has also been added to the guest list!

For now, it’s unknown when the panel will happen, but it wouldn’t be a major surprise if they followed the route that A New Hope took back in Orlando 2017, and opened the event on Friday morning, at the main stage. The list of the cast members that was announced today includes Michael Carter (Bib Fortuna), Sean Crawford (Yak Face), Tim Dry (J’Quille), Femi Taylor (Oola), Mike Edmonds (Logray), Mike Quinn (Nien Nunb), Tim Rose (Admiral Ackbar), and Caroline Blakiston (Mon Mothma). Moreover, Crawford will be signing autographs and taking photo-ops for free! The price tags on the rest of them, as well as the chance to book your slot, are available here.

We fully expect more major names to be announced once booked for the 40th-anniversary panel, including Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, who will likely already be there to promote Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Anthony Daniels and Denis Lawson were also announced to be attending the event, so we expect them to pop by as well. Whether or not bigger names like Lawrence Kasdan or even George Lucas will show up, remains to be seen, but we shouldn’t get our hopes up just yet.

In addition to the 40th-anniversary panel, as mentioned earlier, it’s also been confirmed that Rosario Dawson, who plays the live-action incarnation of Ahsoka Tano, will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans as well. Price tags for both are available in the link above. Her appearance there doesn’t come particularly as a surprise, as she’s expected to attend the yet-to-be-announced major panel focused on the upcoming Ahsoka live-action series. In fact, the actress is available for photo-ops and pictures on Sunday and Monday, which already tells us that we should expect that panel to happen either on Friday or Saturday. If the Return of the Jedi panel is indeed on Friday, we could see Ahsoka take the stage on Saturday — it could also be part of a larger panel akin to what Lucasfilm did last year in Anaheim, where they discussed every upcoming live-action project in a 90-minute Thursday panel.
