Carl Weathers Teases What’s in Store for Greef Karga in ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3

With season 3 of The Mandalorian arriving in just over a month, we’re starting to get a lot of interviews with the cast and crew hyping it up. Carl Weathers is the latest cast member to be asked what’s in store for the third season, and he dares fans not to be entertained.

There wasn’t much Weathers could say about the season really, but he did reiterate some aspects of his involvement while talking about how great it’s going to be in an interview with Gambit published earlier this week:

I can say this: I’m going to be in it. I can say I directed an episode of it. I can say it’s going to be slammin’. It’s going to look bigger than the other seasons did. And if you’re not entertained, we’re coming after you.

When asked if we’re going to see anything new with Greef Karga’s character that we didn’t see in previous seasons, Weathers got a bit more cagey but explained what little he could:

There are aspects of Greef’s character that you’ll see in third season that you didn’t see in the other two seasons. And he — I’ll just say this — he’s become a magistrate. So his clothing is really kind of out there now. It’s got all his finery on and beautiful colors and wearing crazy stuff and trying to keep Nevarro a safe place and place that you might want to call home.

Honestly, it’s something the trailer has already revealed to us, but Weathers is understandably reluctant to give anything away, joking “they’ll cut my tongue out if I give away secrets.”

The Mandalorian season 3 should see Greef Karga continue to evolve from the shady bounty hunter guild man we met in the first season to a man of honor. We saw in season 2 that he’d started to turn Nevarro into a place of considerable repute in the Outer Rim, with its own New Republic marshal and all — perhaps we’ll see a new one of those now that Cara Dune has vanished from the story.

Either way, it’s not long now until we see what’s going on with Greef Karga and what kind of trouble he might need Mando to deal with in the coming season.
