‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Finale Tops ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Finale’s Viewership

The viewership on the Star Wars Disney Plus series continue to move onward and upward, as the viewership on the finale to Obi-Wan Kenobi has managed to top the viewership on the finale for The Book of Boba Fett.

Deadline has released a new report sharing the latest numbers from Samba TV, a service that measures devices across 3 million households in the United States. According to Samba TV, 1.8 million viewers watched the finale to Obi-Wan Kenobi over its first five days, which is up 20% compared to the finale on The Book of Boba Fett, which had 1.5 million viewers. Samba TV defines a “view” as watching five minutes or more of an episode, and measures the number of devices that streaming shows are seen from rather than the number of total minutes watched.

Samba TV also indicated that the five-day premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi managed to narrowly top the five-day premiere for the second season of The Mandalorian (with 2.14 million viewers versus 2.08 million viewers), which should be no surprise since the show had the biggest global opening for a Disney Plus series in terms of hours streamed. In other words, this should theoretically make Obi-Wan Kenobi the most-streamed Star Wars series thus far, at least where average viewership is concerned.

What’s interesting is that Obi-Wan Kenobi also had to share its finale date with the release of the third episode of fellow Disney Plus series Ms. Marvel and the streaming debut of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Aside from the abundance of internal competition, the finale managed to be one of the most viewed Star Wars finale – although the title of the most-viewed Disney Plus finale overall is still held by the first season of Loki, which garnered 1.9 million viewers over five days.

All six episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are available to stream.
