‘Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’ Will Continue the Story of Cal Kestis, May Have Multiple Playable Characters

A new rumor from an industry insider suggests that the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order — believed to be called Star Wars Jedi: Survivor — will continue with Cal Kestis’s story instead of shifting things up with a new protagonist, although Cal may not be the only playable character this time around.

Jeff Grubb has once again shared some details about the upcoming Star Wars Jedi sequel on his podcast GB Decides. When asked about rumors that the next game in the series will put players in the shoes of another Jedi, Grubb explained that Cal is still the protagonist, but he does not rule out the possibility that other characters may be playable. Here’s what he said:

“I have talked about this, but not publicly. I looked into this, because there are rumors out there that [Cal Kestis is not playable], and he is. Cal Kestis is still the star of that game. He’s the main character… So I suppose that that does not mean that there aren’t other playable characters – I’m not saying there are, either, I don’t know – what I was told is, Cal Kestis is the main character still.”

You can listen to the podcast below (relevant part from 1:29:02 to 1:29:55):

As it stands, it can be presumed that the rest of the crew of the Stinger Mantis will be appearing alongside Cal, with its ranks including the likes of the pilot Greez, the droid BD-1, the Jedi in exile Cere Junda, and the Nightsister survivor Merrin. Of those, it seems like Cere and Merrin could be playable if the game expands its roster of playable Force-wielders.

The officially-untitled Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel is currently in development, with some expecting it to release at some point early next year. A first look at the game is expected to arrive at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in a few days.
