‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Twitter Promo Reveals Snippets of New Footage Ahead of Trailer Release

Can’t wait for the next Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer that’s dropping later today? Well, neither can we! But the good news is that a short promotional clip on Twitter has been revealed, showing a few seconds of footage of the highly-anticipated Disney Plus original series.

Twitter users with an interest in Star Wars have noticed a short, looping clip available to watch on the “Explore – For You” tab. Our pals over at r/StarWarsLeaks have quickly been able to capture a copy of this video and give it greater exposure to fans thirsty for more footage of the limited series. Included in the brief montage are three short shots that weren’t included in the initial trailer – a shot of a ship flying over a dark and cloudy sky, a shot of the Inquisitors marching through the Fortress Inquisitorius, and an escape pod launching. You can watch the looping video below:

The short clip gives us a quick confirmation that the Inquisitors will be accompanied by Purge Troopers, a special class of Imperial Stormtrooper subservient to the cause of the Inquisition. Like the Fortress Inquisitorius on the moon Nur, they were created for the video game Jedi: Fallen Order, and are now making their live-action debut. As of right now, it’s not clear if this footage will appear in the new trailer, or if it will be included in other TV spots ahead of the release of the series. In any case, we’ll be sure to cover news on Obi-Wan Kenobi and other Star Wars Disney Plus shows as they come.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will be arriving on Disney Plus on May 27, 2022 – only a few days after the 45th anniversary after the release of Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977. The series is set to run for six episodes and will have a presence at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim.
