Actress Misty Rosas, who played Kuiil in The Mandalorian season 1 and Frog Lady in season 2, recently posted a picture on Instagram wearing a “The Mandalorian season 3″ T-shirt. The picture was taken from inside a plane, and the caption says that she was flying to Germany.
This comes a few days after The Mandalorian officially wrapped production, and it is the first confirmation we’ve had that Rosas will be taking on a character in the new season. Check out her post:
We don’t know who Rosas will be playing, but it is likely it will be a new character. The actress was brought back for season 2 after Kuiil’s death to play Frog Lady. And since that character’s arc was seemingly done in season 2, it’s very possible Favreau and his team simply created a new character for her to perform.
Not many details are known about season 3 yet, and Rosas is the fourth returning actress we officially know about. The other three are series lead Pedro Pascal, who did not spend a lot of time on set, as he was in Canada filming HBO’s The Last of Us series, Carl Weathers, and Giancarlo Esposito. A story from March by The Hollywood Reporter also said that legendary actor Christopher Lloyd will be having a guest appearance in the third season. Katee Sackhoff and Emily Swallow, who played the Armorer, are also expected to return, as is a certain season 2 actor who was spotted on set a couple of weeks before filming wrapped.
Weathers will also be back to direct at least one episode, and so will Bryce Dallas Howard. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are executive producing again, with the latter most likely directing an episode as well.
Filming for Ahsoka is scheduled to begin in the next few weeks in Manhattan Beach Studios, with Rosario Dawson leading the cast. We don’t know if Rosas will also have a role to play in the spin-off. As far as we know, she was not in The Book of Boba Fett.
