‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 Set Photos Tease the Return of Season 2 Character

Bespin Bulletin has released two new photos from the set of The Mandalorian season 3 that would confirm the return of a supporting character we saw last season. While the character’s return won’t be considered a big spoiler for many people, we’d like to raise a minor warning and advise those of our readers who want to go into the third season blind to stop reading here.

The pictures show Simon Kassianides, the actor who portrayed Axe Woves, the male Mandalorian that appeared alongside Bo-Katan and Koska Reeves in Chapter 11. Woves was notably absent in the season finale, which did see the return of his two clanmates.

Bo-Katan actress Katee Sachkoff jokingly told Alex and Mollie Damon during a livestream last year that Woves was just in the bathroom during the events of Chapter 16. However, speaking to Kristian Harloff during an episode of Sith Council last year, she said:

“He just wasn’t there and there’s a reason. It’s just one of those things where I don’t know if the story is something I’m supposed to tell. So he’s just not there.”

Woves’ return is far from surprising after those comments from the actress. It should be noted, though, that he might be the only companion Bo-Katan has in the third season, since Sasha Banks confirmed late last year that she would not appear in the third entry of the hit Disney Plus show.

Lots of new adventures are coming with the third season, and Axe Woves may be key to at least some of them. We will find out for ourselves when The Mandalorian season 3 starts streaming either late this year or in early 2023. The cast and crew have been hard at work filming since mid-September, and may now be close to wrapping up. This is the way!
