‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ Season 2 Will Arrive This Spring

Star Wars Insider has revealed that the next season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch will be arriving earlier than some have anticipated. Though no set month has been given for the second season, it will arrive at some point this Spring.

According to the latest issue of Star Wars Insider, the tentative release window for The Bad Batch is Spring 2022. Conventionally, Spring covers anything between March and May in terms of the general release calendar, so that could either line up with the first anniversary of the show’s premiere episode (May 4th), or it could arrive even earlier. Check out the screencap from the issue below:

We heard a rumor a while ago that there’s a chance Lucasfilm might split the sophomore outing of The Bad Batch into two parts for the sake of their release schedule. Given that many assume Obi-Wan Kenobi – which also does not have a public release date – will arrive in time for Star Wars Day on May 4, it may be fair to speculate that Lucasfilm Animation will release an initial set of episodes in the weeks before the highly-anticipated live-action limited series starts airing, before resuming with the adventures of Clone Force 99 after that series is finished. But unlike the concrete release window for the series, this is nothing more than a rumor, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set following the end of the Clone Wars, in which the Jedi are being hunted down and the Clone Troopers are being phased out for Stormtroopers. A group of special clones called The Bad Batch have their reservations about the newly-formed Galactic Empire, and decide to go rogue by escaping with a young girl, becoming mercenaries. But as the former Clone Force 99 operatives seek to find answers for what happened at the end of the war and look for a way to help some of their clone brethren, an Imperial loyalist among their ranks relentlessly chases their trail. The show stars Dee Bradley Baker as the voices of the Bad Batch and most other Clone Troopers, and Michelle Ang as Omega.

We will find out what is next for the ragtag group and Omega when Star Wars: The Bad Batch returns this Spring.
