New Look at Kylo Ren’s ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Appearance Revealed at Marketing Expo

Star Wars
Our first official look at what a masked Kylo Ren is going to look like in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has appeared, which has the Supreme Leader of The First Order wearing his newly-repaired helmet in a promotional image at the Licensing Expo 2019.

This new image comes to us via the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event started earlier today and features a substantial amount of content from an assortment of major brands. Naturally, Disney had a presence there, and Twitter user trcoot managed to snag an image of a poster celebrating Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, 20th Century Fox, and National Geographic. Kylo Ren’s appearance in The Rise of Skywalker represented the Star Wars section, which you can see below:

Need a closer look? Twitter user CadBanesBounty resized the image and cropped out the other characters in order to show off the detail in the battered mask:

The lighting on the image, along with the markings, help accent that the helmet itself is dented and damaged instead of simply fitting perfectly. Suffice to say, Kylo Ren may not be entirely comfortable under that helmet, but it beats being Supreme Leader without it on.

But there’s more where that came from, even if we have yet to see it. According to Twitter user Crazy4ComicCon, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy spoke at the event alongside Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, showcasing some sort of content to attendees at whatever panel that Disney was hosting. Details remain scarce for now, but until then, you can take a gander at a humorous .GIF representation of what Crazy4ComicCon’s viewing experience was like:

Hopefully, whatever footage was shown will be seen in public sooner rather than later. Perhaps at the San Diego Comic Con, if we’re lucky, or Disney D23 a little while later if we’re slightly less lucky.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be released on December 20, 2019.
