Star Wars: ‘The Madalorian’ – Expensive Equipment and Potential Highly Sensitive Material Stolen From the Set

Star Wars The Mandalorian
Troubled productions are not uncommon for the Star Wars franchise across its history of over 40 years, and sadly that seems to apply to the first live-action show in the franchise’s history. Some concerning reports have arrived about The Mandalorian indicating valuable material has been stolen from the set.

According to The Blast (hat tip Collider Jedi Council), police are currently investigating a case involving expensive equipment stolen from the set of The Mandalorian at Manhattan Beach, California. It is believed that the camera equipment was stolen overnight. As it should be self-evident by that information, the information that’s at risk of leaking out relates only to The Mandalorian and not anything else in Lucasfilm’s pipeline. Most concerning is that a memory card containing information related to the show itself appears to be missing, and if that’s the case, then raw footage for the series could be at risk of leaking out and revealing story-related secrets.

This could be a potential mess for Lucasfilm to have to sort out, one that is no doubt incredibly stressful and frustrating for the cast and crew of the series. This will undoubtedly result in an even tighter grip on the set. Hopefully Lucasfilm is able to recover the equipment and potential content taken from the set and those responsible are caught to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian is currently filming and will be featured on Disney’s upcoming streaming service.
