New Speeder From The Last Jedi Revealed Via Another Toy Leak and More

The toy leaks from The Last Jedi continue to spread around the world. A few days ago we showed you a bunch of 3.75 inch figures from Rian Johnson’s movie that started to appear in different stores, breaking the embargo which most likely is September 1, when the second Star Wars Force Friday event will take place. In this new leak we get a first look at a new vehicle from the movie, plus a closer look at the Resistance A-Wing, which we spotted several times during the production. Read on for the details but beware of SPOILERS!

During the filming in Dubrovnik, which stands in as the city of Canto Bight in The Last Jedi, we noticed some guards with the Aurebesh equivalent of the letters CBPD (probably Canto Bight Police Department) on their helmets. The guards were spotted on the beach (see below).

And here’s a closer look at their uniform with the Aurebesh letters (CBPD) on their helmets:

Many have noticed the resemblance with one of the many Ralph McQuarrie designs that was not used in the Original Trilogy:

Now, thanks again to the Instagram account Rogue507,we have a first look at the speeder that these officers will ride in The Last Jedi, trying to keep the order in the city.

The design looks really awesome and unlike any speeders we’ve seen before. It looks more like a starfighter than a speeder.

Another toy leak gives us a closer look at the Resistance A-Wing toy from The Last Jedi:

It’s great to see the return of this famous starfighter in Star Wars. The use of A-Wings in The Last Jedi was actually one of the first things that was revealed during the production of the movie, when Prince Harry and Prince William visited the Pinewood set.

And of course the A-Wings were also spotted in the Behind the Scenes Reel that was shown at D23 this year (see title image).

And finally here’s an even closer look at the Ski Speeder from the planet Crait with it’s detachable wing and the Force Link System that activates the vehicle’s sounds:

So, what do you think? Do you like the new speeder design? Are you happy to see A-Wings brought back to Star Wars? Tell us what you think in the comments below or join us in The Cantina forums.

The aurebesh on the guards’ helmets translates to C.B.P.D-which probably stands for “Canto Bight Police Department”, or something similar.

Yes indeed. We have that in one of the linked articles, but I will mention it here again too.

Nice looking speeder, should look good on film. Still not sure on the Ski Speeder, maybe due to the context of a Walker Assault, but looking forward to having my fears proved unfounded.

The Ski Speeder looks like a mini-rig version of the B-Wing – IE: kind of awkward but interesting and in-universe. The CBPD speeder looks nice. 🙂

Spot on in regard to the Ski Speeder.

I wonder if the Ski Speeder isn’t “new” within the Sequel universe — if it is actually an “old” vehicle from the OT era (one that existed “off camera”, like the U-Wing) that is re-purposed (weaponized) by the Resistance for the battle against the FO. Its whole design looks old-school OT era.

i think the police speeder thing is the kind of toy they release which isn’t actually part of the movie.

Or cut from the movie, like the FO Snowspeeder from TFA.

well, if it’s cut from the movie we can’t blame the toy makers. It is however a flying chair with little else about it which makes me think it’s the sort of cheap to make thing they’d dish out to try to get kids to part with their (parents) cash. The other models however look ok, and no nerf pellets in sight.

I suspect those police officers will be arresting Finn and Rose when they arrive on Canto Bight — that it’s a Canto Bight jail cell we see in the BTS reel.

Would not be surprised if it gets cut from the movie or is just a toy made that isn’t in the movie (kind of like the Kenner’s mini rigs, etc.).

Happened with about half of the TFA vehicle toys.

Glad to see the A-Wings back! I hope we get some Y-Wings and B-wings, heck even U-wings in the sequel trilogy. I like the variety. As for the speeder, I doubt it will be in the final film and generally I prefer the swoop-bike design to that one but overall its pretty cool and different.

      B-wing….. YES……

If you look at the picture of the man on the speeder, underneath his chair is the rooftop of a building. It seems like these speeders can fly pretty high (unlike Rey’s speeder, by contrast, which is low to the ground.)

Yeah you’re right. Makes sense for a place like Canto Bight. I imagine its a bustling sort of city where you wouldn’t really be able to fit vehicles like that on the ground.

These are brand new designs, yet somehow they still feel very much a part of the same universe I watched on film 20 years ago as a young boy. That’s some seriously good design. Even the CBPD officers feel like something out of Star Wars. If this film manages to capture a new Star Wars vibe as well as these designs do, then I’ll be one happy camper.

I think the CBPD is just a toy and isn’t a film vehicle. Hasbro had last year similarly one-man vehicles and speeders that didn’t appear in TFA.

I know the one speeder was in a deleted scene on Starkiller Base, but I got the Speeder Bike w/ Elite Trooper and the small walker with the Stormtrooper Commander on Force Friday and neither where anywhere to be seen in the film. So you could be right.

I was referencing to the elite trooper speeder. Indeed, the snowspeeder was in a deleted scene. this set is more similar to the elite trooper speeder.

The canto bight police speeder looks pretty interesting and new, but I’m really not feeling the Crait speeder design…One wing with the cockpit on one side, the guns on the complete opposite side of the ship and a big engine in the middle with what looks like a desk fan hanging off the back of it. And it scrapes the ground while it flies? Huh? It doesn’t seem like a practical vehicle. I’ve been giving it some time in case I warm up on the design but it’s not happening…Fingers crossed that there’s some sort of cool story element that explains the ships or that they transform some way in combat and look less goofy in action.
