EA Employee Teases Star Wars Battlefront 2 Trailer.

A recent tweet from an Electronic Arts employee implied that a trailer for Star Wars Battlefront 2 is in development. Might it be finished in time for Celebration Orlando?

Randy Evans has done a great amount of work with Electronic Arts and their DICE division previously, with his credits including various titles in the Mirror’s Edge and Battlefield series, along with – you guessed it – Star Wars Battlefront. Given that DICE has announced that they’re going to take a break from Battlefield for a little while, it appears that all hands are on deck with Battlefront 2. Evans bringing up the Force certainly suggests that this is for a Star Wars project, in any case, but it’s not clear if this trailer is going to be attached to April’s Star Wars Celebration Orlando or if it will be a part of June’s EA Play presentation. Still, given that the opening panel for Celebration Orlando is going to comprehensively cover the Star Wars franchise, it’s entirely possible that a trailer is one of Lucasfilm’s big surprises that they promised.

I think the big reveal for BF2 will be at Celebration – it makes sense, for that kind of fan exposure.

Can we get new factions and eras please? First Order, CIS, Republic?

They have promised new eras – plural. Whether or not that means we’ll be seeing clones and battle droids has yet to be confirmed, but considering the backlash that the first game had for not including them, I doubt that they’ll be left out. The Sequel Trilogy era is basically confirmed, though.

I don’t think that Star Wars fans have to love the prequels in order to be “true” Star wars fans, though I don’t know hwy juts playing as the clones would be a deal-breaker. it’s juts an extra option, not a mandate.

Never said that buddy. I was not referring to the prequels but I was referring to his comment on not buying a game for having prequel content.

Yeah, and he wouldn’t want the prequel content because he doesn’t like the prequels. Connect the dots, please.

lol so does that mean that he doesnt like pandemics starwars battelfront? Also nobody is forcing him to play prequel era either.

I know. I think he’s overreacting , but I don’t think he has to like prequel content in order to be a better “Star Wars fan”.

what I meant is that if prequel content being present in a starwars game is seriously gonna stop him from playing it then what kind of of fan is he? I seriously dont know whats with you people defending a guy who says he wont buy a game if it has prequel content in it. And now you guys are saying that I said that if he doesn’t like the prequels he is not a true fan. Well I will say it now, he can be a mega fan even if he doesn’t like the prequels. But what I tried saying is that if he is seriously gonna stop and say “Hey Im not buying this starwars game cause it has prequel content in it” Then seriously, if thats gonna stop you from buying the game, then what kind of of fan are you? So does that mean that he didint play Battlefront 1 and 2 since they had so much prequel content in them? Theres so much games out there like “starwars bounty hunter” and “starwars republic commando” that were games that took place during the prequels and are known for being fan favorites. Even people who disliked the prequels love these games that took place during the prequels. All im saying is that

Doesn’t mean I’m going to cry if they don’t have clones… as opposed to the incessant bitching about how the PT is “not my canon” that gets re-stated ad nauseum.

The new games need more original stories that take place around the film’s time and add to the mythos like Bounty Hunter, Dark Forces, and the Rogue games did as well as have memorable characters unique to the game.

I still play battlefront today and I absolutely love the game, that being said the amount of content and maps on release were pitiful. With the DLC it feels like a full game. EA was manated to get the game out in time for TFA and I imagine that they had to cut a lot out in the process which is why I can understand there being no single player in SWBF. My hope is now that since they have proper time to plan and have the full studio working on the game that they listen to the fans concerns and actually improved the next iteration of and build on what makes it so enjoyable to play.

I would like to see a republic commando-ish game that takes on the call of duty franchise.
