Another day with numerous news about Rogue One. The promo campaign for the movie is indeed in full swing now. Today we have more interviews with Felicity Jones, Rogue One was approved for a release in China (very important for the box office results), the Rogue One interactive site is up, more news on tickets and more. We also have a new Rebels clip and a Force for Change video.

First we start with a new promo clip from the upcoming episode of Star Wars: Rebels:

In this clip from the Star Wars Rebels episode “An Inside Man,” Grand Admiral Thrawn tests the work of a farmer forced to work for the Empire, while Ezra and Kanan cannot intervene…

Let us all unite and be one massive Force for Change with the new initiative:

Disney, Target and Star Wars: Force for Change are launching a new fashion-meets-fundraising initiative inspired by the themes of rebellion from the new movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Ten influential names across film, music, fashion and sports have come together to support UNICEF Kid Power by creating a line of “Force 4 Fashion” T-shirts available exclusively in the U.S. at Target beginning November 27. $5 from the sale of each shirt will be donated to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF in support of UNICEF Kid Power.

You can learn more about the initiative here.

Excerpts from the interview (full story here):

GLAMOUR: Did you watch the Star Wars films as a kid? Who introduced you to them?

FJ: My boy cousins used to sit my older brother and me down and take us through a film-studies course. It included Tremors, The Goonies, and, of course, Star Wars. That was when it began: sitting cross-legged watching as the opening crawl goes up the screen.

GLAMOUR: What was your audition process like for Jyn?

FJ: My agent called me up and said, “There is a tremendous female lead in the new Star Wars film, and I think you’re really going to like it.” The opportunity to play someone determined, who’s trying to find her skills as a leader; to be in a fantasy movie; to be able to do a leading female role in a film of that scale—that’s very, very rare.

GLAMOUR: In a Rogue One trailer, Jyn is described as reckless, aggressive, and undisciplined. Those are traits we’ve grown accustomed to seeing in male heroes, but they aren’t traits we usually get to see in our female heroes.

FJ: She’s a bit of a wounded animal when you meet her. There were moments when she’s been blown over, she’s scrambling to get up, and she falls. It’s important that she’s not perfect. [The director] Gareth [Edwards] and I, we want to see her being a human being.

And yet another interview with Felicity Jones, this time for the New York Times:

Rogue One has sold hundreds of thousands of tickets within minutes!

Buzz is that Disney insiders are giddy about the results, with a number of folks in exhibition surprised at the high sales

Regal Cinemas still have the Ultimate Rogue One ticket available. With this ticket (costs $100) you can watch Rogue One once every day until the movie ends its run in Regal theaters.

China is the second biggest movie market in the world. There are only a limited number of international movies that are allowed to be screened in China every year. Scoring a China premiere is very important in terms of box office and Rogue One has just secured it’s place there:

Rebels composer Kevin Kiner and voice actor Lars Mikkelsen (Thrawn) have been nominated for an Annie award.

Lol @Wen Jiang’s closed eyes in that People photo. Payback for spilling the beans at Celebration?

I wonder if Wen Jiang will get sued or what repercussions took place?

Glad to see Rogue One got its China release. It seems pretty much a given at this point, since it’s such a big movie – but it’s still never a guaranteed thing.
