Isn’t TFA available as a digital download tomorrow (March 15)? (May be early onset dementia, but I thought I saw that date pegged either to iTunes or Best Buy…)

      April 1st for Digital.

I have never, and will never, buy a movie digitally (until it is the only option), but one thing always eluded me. Do you get special features when you buy a film digitally?

Not exactly sure – was just hoping to get it sooner! 🙂

Depends. iTunes offers many of the special features digitally as well, but it’s a case by case feature realistically.

that is just another reason i stick to bluray. The biggest being….

          1. Price (most of my blurays cost about $7. with some being $3.99, and some $11+). just doing a quick search, I got Life of Pi for $3.99, and Alien for $4.99. They are both $12.99 on Google.

          2. I get a digital copy with most of my blurays already.

          3. not tied to a service. I own my bluray. and i can watch it regardless of internet connection.

I agree. I have an ikea-dvd shelfful of blu rays, and won’t ever buy ditigal copies particularly because of point 3.; Also having a phisical copy of it feels li,e I actually do own the film

I still buy all my films on Betamax. Do you remember Betamax? Those were the days weren’t they? My Father brought a Betamax video player when I was a child. There is no feeling like waiting for fucking six months to see a film that I could have seen almost immediately if my Father had brought a fucking VHS player. Gotta love the Betamax.

I’m still betting on her being a droid with the way she stomps around. You aslo hear servos when she moves though that could be part of the special armor. LIke I said, she sounds different than the other troopers, and on top of that she sounds so disinterested when she speaks like a GPS. She is a better actress than that, and JJ is a better director than that. I think it is intentional, and I think she’s a droid.

I would buy that but the way she dooms Starkiller base and turns off the shields to save her skin goes against that theory. If the First Order made a droid to lead the legions of stormtroopers I would think they would have programmed her with a little more loyalty.

I thought of that as well. My only theory on that part would be for her to have some sort of self preservation, the only problem with that though is it was turned way high it would seem. Battle droids would be expendable, storm troopers to a lesser extent, but a captain/general could be set for more self preservation.

Again, just a theory. I’m probably wrong 🙂

I’m going for Phasma being Human. I’ve worked for woman similar to Phasma’s rank in the work environment and they all walk and talk the same.

You’re probably correct. I have been writing all of my theories about TFA and that is one of them.

Another was that Snoke was/is Plagueis and influenced the force to create Ben Skywalker. A married couple or a couple in general wouldn’t be surprised if they were going to have a baby.

Sometimes theories stick though. Back in the 90s my best friend suggested that the Clone Wars was a reference to the Stormtroopers and how they were all clones of maybe 5 or 6 people. Of course we know now that the original troopers were the clones and afterwards they died, but that was pretty close. We all have to start somewhere. Every now and then we’re right 🙂

Everything I read here is very interesting. Some of the theorys sound good, some not so much. I’m thinking that Kylo will be ruing what he did to his father in secret but will continue his training under Snoke Finn will be finding his feet in The Resistance just like Han in the OT. Poe is the Wedge Antilles of the sequel trilogy. What happens with Rey and Luke I’m not sure. There is so much that can happen here. Luke trains Rey to become a great Jedi but she needs to run off to save her friends but this time Luke actually makes her stay and she completes her training and confronts Snoke and Kylo only to find out that Snoke is a damn sight more powerful than they both realise. Luke and Rey both confront Snoke and Luke gets Killed leaving Rey on her own to complete the task The thing is is that there are so many possibilities that my mind goes into overdrive and the whole thing just shuts down.

I’ll be very excited to see whatever it is. I’m guessing Episode VIII will focus on Rey’s training and possibly the finishing of Kylo Ren’s training as Snoke said in TFA.

As much as I enjoyed TFA and as excited as I am for Episode VIII, is it wrong of me to say that I’m even more excited for Rogue One?

I hope she is some kind of cyborg she speaks so robotic and cold even for a first order captain. She would be even more obedient with some kind robotic programming keeping her troops in line.

It makes no sense to me that they would name their kid, Ben. Obviously it’s in reference to Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi, but Han and Leia have hardly any connection to him at all. In the old EU, Luke’s son was named Ben and that actually made sense because Ben and Luke have a strong connection; but Han and Leia didn’t care a whole lot about him in the original movies.
