Yeah it was pretty bad honestly and the show has grown on me. But Sabine is just a terrible character.

Chopper is awful. Sorry, I tried to cut it some slack that past 5 episodes, but what a pointless character.

Sorry… It’s just weak script… Plain and simple.

It is a shame. They could have made Sabine gritty, but they decided to go down a lazy path with the character. Chopper is also bad I agree. I rather have had them go the HK route from the old republic if they wanted to do an angry droid.

There’s never been a show in Star Wars history that has created such division among fans! The real “rebels” or EU fans that got the shaft…will take action to affect Disney “the Empire,” and it’s wallet…If you haven’t noticed the dismal sales numbers of their ridiculous book then take a look! Maybe after we hit their wallet in sales…they will bring back certain aspects for the EU fan base or reach out to see what the fans want and not shove crap like this down our throat as canon!

Please try to remember, adult children that this show is largely for actual children. Don’t take it so seriously. Remember also that the age group that this is intended for is still highly entertained by booger and fart references, sadly so are some adults I know, but if you’re wanting something more highbrow and serious just wait for episode 7 and leave this to people that can enjoy the show for what it is

You can´t mean it seriously that this cartoon is part of the movie canon 🙂 The way this characters act, really? :-)) Impossible… who was the smart ass who decided that EVERYTHING including videogames, comics etc. would be now part of canon? The only statement I registered is THE CANON IS THE CANON AND THE CANON ARE THE SIX MOVIES. I just watched the last episode – the one with the Rodian – it´s fun to watch but I´d never compare this show to any of the movies. I mean – think of “Mandalore”, the “armor” of the girl with Bobba Fett helmet. Yeah – it is Boba Fett´s helmet, not just a random helmet you can buy at any corner…

yes…unfortunately this “rebels,” nonsense is considered canon. My face is still stinging from the slap that Disney give us with that! as I have said before on many sites. Make a kiddie show…but just don’t make it canon.

To that I would say “considered by whom?” It´s like a religion. Bible and Jesus are real for the believers. Rebels may be considered canon…by Disney executives, by some fans, but not by all of them. To me it´s not canon and no cartoon will ever be – next to a live action movie. Simply as that – I don´t CONSIDER Star Wars Rebels canon 🙂 and the world is just a little better place :-)))))

Well actually even George Lucas didn’t think about the EU as canon. He supported this kind of creative expansion of his universe, but he had never taken it into account in his own stories.
So this isn’t Disney’s fault. Sadly the EU was full of inconsistency. There was a lot of good stories in it, and the bigger EU writers tried to fix these problems, but the lack of supervision was quite disturbing.

And when Disney bought the rights for Star Wars, they decided to do things differently. They only took the “George-styled” SW media into canon, but from now, everything published under the supervision of Disney is canon.
I think this is a much better way handling Star Wars, than the previous one. I hated when the stories in the games or in the books contradicted with each other or with the movies.

If you like, if you not, the stories behind Rebels are officialy canon. At the Clone Wars series, I thought about the childish elements as a different kind of mediator for children, and not a thing needed to take so seriously (for example the droids in the series were too idiot compared to the movies). And I think similary about Rebels.

Maybe it’s not the best way, but for me it’s much better method than the one before.

If you don’t like it, you don’t have to take these into account in your “own canon”. Everybody have the right to think about Star Wars or any other big universe as they want to. When somebody talks about what IS Star Wars, some talks about the movies, some talks about only the Old Trilogy, some talks about EU etc.
    But “officialy” this is canon.

I thought it was a shortened version of “Pitch Black.” Creatures that hide in the darkness but a large asteroid was about to block the sunlight and allow them to roam freely on the surface.

Give me one main story line… this really is children’s rot, not deserved to be associated or profit off Star Wars fame.
