The Wednesday Tease is No More.

Last two Wednesdays were Christmas and New Year and no vintage videos were released by StarWars.com. Today we’ll find out if the Wednesday Tease articles will remain in the past so stay tuned. Still check out these Star Wars related stories from the last few days while we wait…

Just a few days ago Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackhoff denied any rumors tying her with the new Star Wars movies. Now it looks like she wants to play a very insignificant role in J.J. Abrams’ Episode 7:

“Star Wars meant everything to me growing up. Star Wars was, I mean, it was the first time I remember seeing three movies that all kind of went together. It was just an amazing final understanding of what a trilogy was…I was absolutely obsessed, I mean I wanted to be… The sad thing is, I never wanted to be Princess Leia, I always wanted to be Han Solo! [laughs] I’ve never really been drawn to these female roles, but I think that The Clone Wars was so much fun for me to play, I mean a warrior….If J.J. would listen, I would play a rock in the Star Wars movies. I think that they’re fantastic, I think that he’s a great choice, and I’m excited to see what happens in that world.”

In an interview with 2PacForum, former chief of Death Row Records, Rick Clifford, revealed that Tupac was supposed to play Jedi Master Mace Windu… and even read for the part:

“It’s sad because ‘Pac found out that I worked for Brian Austin Green who was on 90210, then he found out I was in some movies. So we always talked about his film career and stuff. He was telling me that he was supposed to read for George Lucas. They wanted him to be a Jedi. I’m serious – Samuel L. got Tupac’s part… He called me ‘Old Man’. He said ‘Old Man keep your fingers crossed, I got three movies coming up. One of them I gotta read for George Lucas’.”

The site Newsarama has published an exclusive interview  with Lucasfilm announcing the release of a Dark Horse comic book series based on cancelled episodes of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series:

“Lucasfilm has told us the finale to Star Wars: The Clone Wars is being told as a comic launching this May. This doesn’t preclude the fully produced episodes from still airing somehow, but does let fans jump right to the ending and the unproduced final arc.

In this last year of Lucasfilm’s epic decades-long partnership with Dark Horse Comics, the Oregon-based publisher will be releasing a four-part limited series titled Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir that will adapt the screenplays for what would have been the series finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. Written by seasoned Star Wars comics scribe (and former editor) Jeremy Barlow with an artist to be announced, Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir sees the full-scale return of Darth Maul to the Star Wars universe and into a head-to-head battle with his former master Darth Sidious – aka, the Emperor. Barlow promises to fully delve into the world of Dathomir, as well as some of its inhabitants like Nightbrothers and even a new character called Brother Viscus. Barlow spoke exclusively to Newsarama in our “Galaxy Far Away” Star Wars column.”

Later it was clarified that the comics will only adapt the finale of the Darth Maul storyline, and not the series finale.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away…

A vast sea of stars serves as the backdrop for the main
title. War drums echo through the heavens as a rollup
    slowly crawls into infinity.

It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a
hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic
    Empire.
During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the
Empire’s ultimate weapon, the Death Star, an armored space station
with enough power to destroy an entire planet.
Pursued by the Empire’s sinister agents, Princess Leia races home
aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save her
people and restore freedom to the galaxy…

The awesome yellow planet of Tatooine emerges from a total
eclipse, her two moons glowing against the darkness. A tiny
silver spacecraft, a Rebel Blockade Runner firing lasers from
the back of the ship, races through space. It is pursed by a
giant Imperial Stardestroyer. Hundreds of deadly laserbolts
streak from the Imperial Stardestroyer, causing the main solar
fin of the Rebel craft to disintegrate.

INTERIOR: REBEL BLOCKADE RUNNER — MAIN PASSAGEWAY.

An explosion rocks the ship as two robots, Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2)
and See-Threepio (C-3PO) struggle to make their way through the
shaking, bouncing passageway. Both robots are old and battered.
Artoo is a short, claw-armed tripod. His face is a mass of
computer lights surrounding a radar eye. Threepio, on the
other hand, is a tall, slender robot of human proportions. He
has a gleaming bronze-like metallic surface of an Art Deco
    design.
Another blast shakes them as they struggle along their
    way.

THREEPIO: Did you hear that? They’ve shut down the main reactor. We’ll
be destroyed for sure. This is madness!

Rebel troopers rush past the robots and take up positions
in the main passageway. They aim their weapons toward the door.

    THREEPIO: We’re doomed!

The little R2 unit makes a series of electronic sounds that
    only another robot could understand.

THREEPIO: There’ll be no escape for the Princess this time.

Artoo continues making beeping sounds. Tension mounts as
loud metallic latches clank and the scream of heavy equipment
are heard moving around the outside hull of the ship.

    THREEPIO: What’s that?

    EXTERIOR: SPACECRAFT IN SPACE.

The Imperial craft has easily overtaken the Rebel Blockade
Runner. The smaller Rebel ship is being drawn into the
underside dock of the giant Imperial starship.

    INTERIOR: REBEL BLOCKADE RUNNER.

The nervous Rebel troopers aim their weapons. Suddenly a
tremendous blast opens up a hole in the main passageway and a
score of fearsome armored spacesuited stormtroopers make their
    way into the smoke-filled corridor.
In a few minutes the entire passageway is ablaze with
laserfire. The deadly bolts ricochet in wild random patterns
creating huge explosions. Stormtroopers scatter and duck
behind storage lockers. Laserbolts hit several Rebel soldiers
who scream and stagger through the smoke, holding shattered
    arms and faces.
An explosion hits near the robots.

THREEPIO: I should have known better than to trust the logic of a
    half-sized thermocapsulary dehousing assister…

Artoo counters with an angry rebuttal as the battle rages
    around the two hapless robots.

I thought Maul already confronted and lost to Sidious on Clone Wars. It seemed like Sidious still had some nefarious purpose in mind for the defeated former apprentice though so maybe they delve into that?

Yeah, it is too bad Tupac didn’t play Mace. Then this way, in Revenge of the Sith, Mace could have started rapping to Anakin, “Why U Turn On Me” (for those of you who know Tupac’s music)

While Tupac was a good actor, if this was true, then that shows where Lucas’ mind was at the time, “Let’s cast him because those kids sure do like the hippity-hop.”

Yes, that definitely does sound something like what the older George Lucas would say.

I’m sorry, but I do not believe the Tupac bit for a second. There is only a couple people that could confirm this, and one of them is dead.

It is strange but he was one of the biggest celebrates at the time. I guess in in alternate reality it would happen Tupac the Jedi master lol
