Casting Announcements Delayed at Harrison Ford’s Request? New Rumored Release Date.

episode 7

More rumors regarding when to expect some casting announcements, why they were delayed and what’s the latest rumor about the Episode 7 release date…

Again these rumors come from JediNews‘ source Jedi Master SQL:

23rd October looking like the date we may see the first official major Episode Seven cast news drop.
One problem may be Apple announcing today a product launch on 22nd and they are a PR drain. They want to avoid the last week of the month to give Thor chance to get the press as it starts international on 30th with US opening 8th Nov.
Announcements have been held back at Harrison’s request so he can do his world press junket without having “to endure” SW Q

A Non live action teaser trailer will be aired on 4th April 2014, the release date of Marvel Studios Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The teaser will be similar to the recent Star Wars Rebels trailer in style and will be the first official reveal of Episode VII’s release date of 11th November 2015 (11/11/15).

I wouldn’t be surprised. That sounds like Harrison alright. I mean that in a good way. He’s lovably gruff!

If a teaser does come out and actually features a ship flying over in full movie glory… I’m legitimately excited about that.

Saw another report where it was said Harrison Ford hasn’t made his mind up yet if he’s going to be in Ep. 7 or not. Who knows?

Of course, every talk show host is required to ask Harrison Ford about Star Wars Episode 7. When faced with the question on The Graham Norton show, Ford replied, “I’ve not quite made the choice.” Assuming Ford is shooting straight about not having decided yet, it could explain a lot. If Hamill and Fisher are already signed on, but Ford is holding out, then it makes sense why Disney has not made any official announcements about the original cast.

Historically, Harrison Ford has never liked talking about films that he isn’t actively promoting at the time. And who could blame him? 35 years of getting asked nothing but Star Wars questions would be pretty exhausting, not to mention potentially counter productive to his career.

My guess is that he seems to be finished promoting 42 and Paranoia, however Ender’s Game, Anchorman 2, and Expendables 3 all come out before Star Wars VII. So I would guess, since the Anchorman and Expendable gigs are in all likelihood cameos, that he’ll be more willing to talk about Star Wars after the release of Ender’s Game where he has a starring role. Provided he decides to take a role in Star Wars of course.

Anyone want to see Han Solo die in Episode VII?

I know that’s what Harrison wanted for the character in Return of the Jedi, and I can’t help but feel it might have been a good way to go in Episode VI.

So I think having Han die in Episode VII in a tragic hero kind of way would bring about a great end for the character. Particularly since I can’t see Harrison Ford doing all three episodes of the Sequel Trilogy.

I agree. The first movie of each trilogy has the father/mentor figure die. In Ep4 it was Obi Wan and in Ep1 it was Qui Gon. If Han is a dad to the main characters in Ep7 (as has been rumored), it would make sense for him to die. It could be a first step on the path to the darkside for one of the characters.

How about having Han, Chewie, and Lando in the Falcon, and they all go together as the Falcon explodes.

That would not make any sense to lost 3 main characters. But I’ve read one rumour (not sure if its true but probably not) that Chewie will die in Episode VIII

It would insomuch as they’re probably not main characters in the Sequel Trilogy. Like the previous trilogies, elder characters tend to be supporting.

Also, Chewie is always Han’s co-pillot, so he’d likely be on the Falcon, and Lando is familiar with the ship having owned it, and they all know each other and hang out together, so it’s conceivable he’d be manning the guns or something.

heres how it goes — dark side twin runs off after classic father/son argument (about that ancient religion?). Dad pulls the cover off the old hot rod in the garage and fires up the falcon to go after him. Leia pleads with him not to. Han goes anyway of course. catches up with him on Mos Eisley. showdown in the cantina amid the ghosts of Ben and Greedo. Han of course hesitates at the crucial moment and son kills father. steals falcon and runs off horrified with blood on his hands but slipping in to the dark side. Leia reaches out to Lando who tracks down chewie and together they go off in hot pursuit. Leia tells good twin to go find your uncle — he’ll know what to do. cut to long shot of familiar but stooped figure making the rounds of the vaporators on the old run-down moisture farm, silhouetted against the twin suns (get it?!). cross the screen runs the younger figure. we see them talk but don’t hear what they say. the vaporator wrench slips form his hand, and he drops to his knees. the young man stands by, unsure what he can do to comfort him. thats the first 20 minutes.
