Colin Trevorrow Shoots Down Rumors That He’ll Direct Star Wars Episode 7.

Film School Rejects found an interesting interview from June with Colin Trevorrow in which he mentions a big upcoming fan favorite project. Could this be Star Wars? Read after the break.

Newcomer Colin Trevorrow was one of the rumored names that ended up on the shortlist for directing Episode 7. Even Lucas himself was very impressed with Trevorrow’s work on his only feature film for now Safety Not Guaranteed
In the interview that Colin did back in June he said:

“I can’t speak with any specificity as to what the next thing will be. There are amazing opportunities that have arisen as a result of this. One of them, I will say, will probably create a good deal of ire against me on the Internet when people find out what it is. So, I just want to say in advance that I promise you, for all those who love the mythology that I will be tackling, trust that I love it as much as you do. And I will respect it, and hopefully make it not suck.”

Colin was very quick to respond via Twitter if indeed this project is Star Wars:

To clarify, there is another film we all love that I’m currently trying not to mess up. Odds I will direct Episode VII: 3720 to 1.

Asked to clarify if this means that he officially states that he is out of the running to direct Star Wars, he said:

That is what I am saying.

There you have another name that could be crossed out from the list.
Is there anyone left in Hollywood that DOES want to direct Star Wars?
